Henbury Meteorite Crater, Central Australia, 1999. This crater, almost 600 feet across, was excavated by the explosive impact of an iron meteorite about four thousand years ago. Two small craters adjacent to it were made by fragments of the same meteorite, which disintegrated during its passage through the atmosphere.
