Moray, 1989. Limestone sinkholes terraced by the Incas above the Urubamba Valley, northwest of Cuzco. A research team in the early 1980s found that temperature fluctuations among the terrace levels in the sinkholes created up to twenty distinct ecosystems and speculated that the Incas may have used the site for agricultural experiments.
