Castle Larissa, Argos, 2006. This fortified castle was built by the Byzantines in the 12th century AD on the site of the ancient acropolis of Argos. It was besieged and captured by the Franks, and several times by the Venetians and Ottomans. In the foreground are the outer walls, in the center the citadel. The castle towers over the modern city of Argos. The view looks southeast.
