Paestum, Temples of Hera, Italy, 1991. Greek colonists in Campagnia built the Temple of Hera I (right) in the Archaic Doric style around 550 BC. The adjacent Temple of Hera II (left), sometimes called the Temple of Poseidon, was a massive Doric structure built about a century later, and is unusually well preserved.
